Chocolate fondue

Heart-shaped chocolate is a staple of any Valentine’s Day celebration.  This year, surprise your beloved with a chocolate fondue.  Cut fresh fruits available at this time a year and try one of these three flavored fondue.

Orange flavored chocolate fondue.

12 oz of semi sweet chocolate chips
Zest of one orange
Juice of one orange
double boiler (or 2 sauce pans nested inside each other)

  • In a double boiler melt chocolate chips on the medium heat. Stir the chocolate constantly to avoid burning. Also make sure not to get water in the chocolate mass.
  • Add orange zest and orange juice and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour the chocolate into fondue dish.  Keep warm.



Mint flavored chocolate fondue.


12 oz of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon fresh mint, shopped
1/2 teaspoon mint extract
double boiler (or 2 sauce pans nested inside each other)

  • In a double boiler melt chocolate chips on the medium heat. Stir the chocolate constantly to avoid burning. Also make sure not to get water in the chocolate mass.
  • Add fresh mint and mint extract and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour the chocolate into fondue dish.  Keep warm.



Peppery chocolate fondue.

12 oz of semi sweet chocolate chips
1 teaspoon freshly grounded pepper
double boiler (or 2 sauce pans nested inside each other)

  • In a double boiler melt chocolate chips on the medium heat. Stir the chocolate constantly to avoid burning. Also make sure not to get water in the chocolate mass.
  • Add pepper and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour the chocolate into fondue dish.  Keep warm.
