2 for 1 Wednesday special
No matter how you call them, Wednesdays are the toughest days of the week (at least for me). To make your hump day a little more interesting and green here are 2 web resources:
Check out Grist for you daily dose of fun green news. An excellent website where you can read on the topics ranging from composting to green politicians. And all this with a bit of humor, because:
reading environmental journalism too often feels like eating your vegetables. Boiled. With no butter.
But at Grist, we believe that news about green issues and sustainable living doesn’t have to be predictable, demoralizing, or dull. We butter the vegetables! And add salt! And strain metaphors!
Easter is a couple of weeks away and for those of you who are not using animal products, egg painting could be replaced by …. egg making.

Retro mama (aka Kim) wrote down and photographed a step-by-step tutorial showing how to make these beauties. Not only these eggs are completely vegan, they are also a great way to recycle your old fabrics. Here are some ideas for the green stuffing:
- small grains (buckwheat, rice)
- reuse stuffing from an old pillow or toy
- collect scraps of threads (from sewing or knitting) and use them to stuff smaller eggs
- experiment by combining any of the above with a new stuffing or maybe you have your own great idea!
Have a great Wednesday!
